A NEW LEVEL
Amanda J. Taylor joined The Law Office of Stephen P. New as an Associate Attorney on June 3, 2013.
Amanda is a board member of the West Virginia Association for Justice. She is also the West Virginia State Delegate to the American Association for Justice.
From a very early age, Amanda aspired to be an attorney. She worked toward that goal by putting herself through undergraduate and law school. Amanda is a proud graduate of West Virginia University, where she graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2008.
In 2011, she graduated Order of the Barristers from the West Virginia University College of Law. During her time in law school, Amanda was a member of the Moot Court Board and the National Moot Court Team. In her second year, she won the school’s prestigious George C. Baker Cup competition.
After graduating, Amanda spent the first two years of her practice handling insurance coverage and defense claims in Charleston, West Virginia. In that time, she found that she empathized strongly with individuals that had been injured or treated poorly. That desire to help others led her to join our firm, where she has practiced in an array of areas including personal injury, employment law, insurance coverage disputes, bad faith insurance claims, motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, medical malpractice, mass litigation and class action claims. She has had the privilege of arguing four cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals on behalf of her clients. She has also successfully advocated a number of Workers’ Compensation cases before the Court on brief.
Mandy and Stephen were co-lead counsel representing approximately 100 plaintiffs who contracted Hepatitis B and/or C at the Raleigh Heart Clinic. Cardinal Health, and its local nuclear pharmacy were also defendants in that case, which resulted in a favorable settlement for our clients.
Amanda’s diligence, vast knowledge of the law and dedication to her clients led her to make partner in January 2020, changing The Law Office of Stephen P. New into New, Taylor and Associates.
